Assiniboine Community College is Manitoba's agricultural college. Over the next few years the college will be re-locating to an extraordinary 160 acre heritage campus overlooking Brandon's Assiniboine River valley.

Reporting to the Dean, you will provide day-to-day academic and operational leadership to the School assuring the vitality and academic integrity of programs and of the teaching and learning functions within the school. You will manage diverse programs and share responsibility with faculty to ensure a learning environment that maximizes student learning and success including guiding, advising and mentoring faculty and assigning courses. You will also manage general administrative processes, including budget preparation and monitoring, evaluating courses and faculty, academic student advising, and program quality control. As Chairperson of agricultural, horticultural and environmental programs, you will be responsible for advancing the college??s strategic objective of applied research within this programming area.

You will have a graduate degree with demonstrated competence and work experience in an agricultural or environmental discipline. The ideal candidate will be eligible to hold a professional designation in either of the disciplines. You will have experience in an educational setting including teaching, curriculum development, assessment and evaluation, academic student advising, group facilitation, leadership and teamwork. Experience in managing budgets and human resources is required. Experience in applied research and writing research proposals is desirable. You will have strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects and the ability to be a team leader.
