A pair of new job listings posted by software giant Microsoft on Friday suggest that there will soon be a 'Windows Blue' update for both PC sand Windows Phone devices.
One of the new openings is for a Software Development Engineer in Test and the other is for a Senior Development Lead.
Blue is the nickname assigned to the future line-up of Windows-based OS platforms and services. Citing unnamed sources, ZDNet reported that the Blue will feature an update for Windows Server 2012, Windows 8, Windows Phone 8 and other popular Windows-powered services such as SkyDrive and Hotmail. Rather than a stand-alone platform, it will likely take the form of a refresh to existing products. The report further claims that all these updates are likely to be rolled out by the company within more or less the same time frame - presumably sometime during late 2013.
"We're looking for an excellent, experienced SDET to join the Core Experience team in Windows Sustained Engineering (WinSE)," read the job listing, obtained by ZDNet.
"The Core Experience features are the centerpiece of the new Windows UI, representing most of what customers touch and see in the OS, including: the start screen; application lifecycle; windowing; and personalization," it continued.
