REMOTER IS A ROBUST VNC APP FOR IPHONE OR IPAD

If you?re running a VNC server on a computer in your home or at the office, you already understand the importance of being able to manage that system remotely. There are lots of VNC apps to choose from, but Remoter is a new app that gives you complete control over your system from your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad.?

The app supports Fast VNC 3.8, and works with Mac OS?s built-in screen sharing, UltraVNC on Windows, and the built-in VNC protocol in Linux, so you can manage any system using the app, not just those running a companion app on the other end. You also get a virtual trackpad so you can control the mouse, right-click, and even click-and-hold on items right on your iOS device?s screen.

Remoter will set you back $0.99 in the iTunes App Store for a limited time. It?s normally regular price $4.99. If you need SSH support via VNC, you can download an in-app update for an additional $0.99, and if you want to be able to Telnet using the app, that?ll be another $1.99. If you just want to get all of the features available, it?ll be $3.99, also an in-app purchase.?

Even without those extras, Remoter allows you to connect to and manage any system running a VNC server. The virtual trackpad eliminates the need for a mouse, and the app gives you multiple trackpad modes you can choose from. The app supports wake-on-LAN, so if the system on the other end of the connection is hibernating or sleeping, it?ll wake up when you connect.?

Remoter even supports recording and macros, so you can mange a system and record what you did for review later, or run custom macros and jobs with a few taps. It?s not the only VNC or remote management app in the iTunes Store, but you?ll be pressed to find one this feature-rich.?
