Lakemoor fugitive caught in southern California

A Lakemoor man wanted in three counties for numerous financial-related offenses has been arrested in southern California, according to the McHenry County Sheriff?s Office.

Karl A. Erikson, 54, was wanted in McHenry County for deceptive practice, false report of an offense, misuse of a credit card and criminal trespass to vehicle. The warrants were issued in December. ?

He was also wanted for financial exploitation of an elderly person in Lake County, and felony theft in Kane County.

McHenry County investigators working alongside the U.S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force began a fugitive investigation into Erikson in February, according to a news release. He was later added to the county?s top 10 most wanted list after authorities believed he had fled to either Colorado or California.

The sheriff?s office received anonymous tip Wednesday that Erikson was reportedly living in the area of Marina Del Rey, Calif. The information reportedly came from a concerned resident who was led to the county's top 10 most wanted website following an Internet search of Erikson.

Erikson was reportedly taken into custody by the Los Angeles County Sheriff?s Office at around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

He is being held in Los Angeles County on a $182,500 bond.
